EFFORTLESS

Due to the shock absorbing arm system, the boom will work through the rough surfaces for you. Keep your arms in position and let the boom do the work for you.

[/col] [col span=”4″ span__sm=”9″ align=”center”]

ACCURATE

As the tubes connect direct to the mast, the positioning of the sail in the perfect position when cruising or manoeuvring, will be more direct. Hence faster and lighter.

[/col] [col span=”4″ span__sm=”9″ align=”center”]

DYNAMIC

The freedom that the boom arms have on the mast, allows the mast to work more dynamic with the sail. A greater performance in terms of power for acceleration and upwind is highly noticeable.

Less power needed while sailing

More comfort and stability

More power and drive in light wind

Lighter and easier feeling during manoeuvres

WHAT IS ALL ABOUT

Have you ever noticed that the arms of the boom aregoing in font from the mast when clamped with a traditional boom head?
The Contact Boom 2.0 allows the tubes from the boom to connect directly in junction with the mast.

[/col] [col span=”6″ span__sm=”12″ align=”center”]

THE CONCEPT

To have the boom arms being in direct alignment and contact with the mast. A perfect tuning balance between rig components. Gear is in perfect balance is the key to maximise performance.
The Contact 2.0 allows the whole rig to gain a better natural geometrical equilibrium. Its suspensions give natural freedom to the reflex of the mast, increasing the efficiency of the rig.

ON LAND

The modern look comes from a total new boom head design. Clean and light; no big plastic boom head in front of the mast. 2 simple clamps which directly attach to the mast, with an integrated side clamp system.
On the rig, the absence of a big bulky head makes the rig modern and clean.

[/col] [col span=”6″ span__sm=”12″ align=”center”]

RIGGING

The clamp has a rotation of over 180 degrees, leaving more rope available to loop to the boom shaft. No need to for the boom head to be forced on the mast as the opening is wider.
The clamp wraps homogeneously around the total diameter of the mast expressing less stress to it. Less clamp power to the head is needed in order to fix in position the boom on the mast from slipping. It can be used with rdm adaptors.

ON THE WATER

The looks: The fact that there is no boom head it gives a clean and modern view while sailing.

Direct Clamping: The boom arms connecting directly on the mast, allow the positioning of the mast in its best natural position to match the wind direction. This brings a lot of advantages as the mast is always in the best position to keep the sail to its max efficiency stance:
• More stability of the rig.
• Lighter feeling, not only when sailing, but also when jibing or manoeuvring.
• More drive for better upwind angle and at higher speeds.

Suspensions: As you start using the boom, you will realize its amazing stiffness on the horizontal axis, but that the tubes are on suspensions on the vertical axis. The boom is moving up and down while sailing! You are staying in your position with your arms steady, and the boom is allowing the rig to follow the surface of the water. The boom is doing all the work for you! Yes, the contact head has suspensions in the tubes holding the carbon arms, and this characteristic brings other advantages:
• As you will work less with your arms, you will sail using less energy. The rig feels also lighter.
• The fact that the boom allows the sail to be freer from us blocking the mast on the vertical axis, the mast will be free to follow a natural reflex and deliver more drive and power especially in light wind. You could say that it gives the power of having a half a meter square bigger sail. There will be a new power and drive that will be felt on your front hand.
• The rig will feel much easier from using a traditional stiffer boom even when sailing powered. • More speed in light wind.

Arm Curves: The front wide angle from the boom arms, thanks to the head design, make jibing even more simple and fast, as it’s easier to place hands on the other tack of the boom while rotating the sail. The rest of the boom curve is developed to allow a natural body stance according to the size of the boom in relation with board width and sail size it will be used on.

THE PLUS IN WAVES SAILING:

Riding: The perfect placing of the mast, thanks to the direct clamp system on the mast, will deliver a light and reactive drive that no other boom will be able to donate.

Jumping: The extra drive and comfort will bring the extra power for jumping higher, but surprising with a nice forging situation due to the suspensions taking all the stress away from the arms and the mast.

Materials: The boom is made with the same carbon and plastics used in the rest of the POINT-7 range which have been successful in winning titles in all disciplines. The suspensions are made from rubber tendons undergoing no structural stress. All parts can be replaced including boom arms, which is another great advantage.
